报告简介:
The phrase “publish or perish” has long been a defining mantra of academia, emphasizing the critical role of publishing in advancing careers, securing funding, and establishing scholarly impact. But how much of this pressure is justified, and how much is shaped by misconceptions?
This talk explores the myths and realities surrounding academic publishing. Is it really all about quantity over quality? Do high-impact journals determine the fate of researchers? Is rejection a sign of failure or a stepping stone to success? By addressing these questions, we will demystify the publishing process and provide actionable strategies for researchers at all career stages.
Key topics include:
• Common myths about the publication process and their implications
• The real factors that influence journal acceptance and research impact
• Strategies for improving writing, targeting the right journals, and handling rejections effectively
• The evolving landscape of academic publishing, including open access, preprints, and alternative metrics
Whether you are an early-career researcher or a seasoned academic, this discussion will offer practical insights to navigate the publishing world more effectively and turn the pressure of “publish or perish” into an opportunity for growth and success.
